In reply to Aashish G's post on September 2, The Vista machine connects to the Airport just fine, excellent signal strength.
When I am in network settings, it shows a good connection between the computer and the Airport, but it shows the Airport is not connected to the modem. I know the Airport is working fine because I am sitting here replying to this on one of the two Macs on this network. The internet was working for two days, and then it just stopped.
In reply to Jesse and Roxy's post on September 12, One more update. I did everything recommended in this thread up, and realized the problem is not with the network. I connected directly to the modem, restarted the computer and modem, obviously no internet.
So I went into control panel, and the computer says it is connected to the internet. It won't let me diagnose anything if the computer thinks there is a connection. I don't want her to have to take it in somewhere to pay money and find out it is a simple setting that reconfigured when the computer crashed. I must say, I have a lot of respect for the people that work on and maintain windows machines everyday, these things are a pain to even figure out what is wrong, let alone fix a problem.
Networkingisapain in vista. So staicaly placing the ip add and dns servers seemed to do the trick. Mick Murphy. You have answered your own question! YOU installed DivX knowing it had problems, lol. I don't think that you have read my post carefully enough. I have an identical setup on two machines and the 32 version has no problem. The version of antivirus that I have does not have a firewall. I however disable it and the firewall, again same problem occured.
As aforementioned in the previous post, other people have the same problem on 64 bit Vista regardless of 3'rd party configuration such as antivirus and firewall settings. Still waiting for an informative, inteligent, and non-insulting answer.
We don't know what you problem is, as you have not included prior posts, explaining the problem This is a Newsgroup, and you should have continued with the original thread, or started again explainging things! I'm having the same problem.
If anyone has figured this out, let me know. My 64 bit IE is connecting fine but firefox and standar IE are saying there is no connection. All settings are fine with the connection. Once again 64bit IE has a great connection. Problem is that many other programs try to update and can't because they are trying to connect through one of the non-connecting browsers.
Really a problem for me. All probrams have been exempted from firewall block already. Thanks, Darin -- drlafon. Meanwhile, please perform the following steps to troubleshoot the issue:. Create a new user account, then logon with the new account and check the result. Check the system files by using the SFC. My sister-in-law presented her HP Pavilion tx notebook to me with the same problem.
The network connection worked except for the browsers. I'm usually pretty good at troubleshooting but this took me over 3 hours to figure out. Turns out one of the 5 Microsoft Security Updates downloaded April 8th or 9th restricted her connectivity. I was too tired to isolate which one it was and just removed them all. Works now. I'm having the same problem, but in my case, its the the update.
Joson, I have attached the result of the above. I suddenly couldn't connect to the internet, both IE and firefox, but my other internet applications work. Can you help me? Office Office Exchange Server.
